Junior Programs
The ultimate purpose of Programs for middle and lower grade students (G4-9) is to let them go 3 years ahead of the Canadian Standard School Curricula. We believe that the most important two things students should do from G4 to G9 for their academic success is to increase the scope of their knowledge based on strong linguistic ability and to obtain wonderful math skills. Thus, our junior programs cover language and math.
English (G4-7 / G7-9)
English program consists of three parts,
RW(reading and writing)
GV (Grammar and vocabulary)
BR (book review)
Most top universities require their applicants to have critical minds and creative thinking. We believe that critical minds come from a wide range of knowledge about what happened and is happening around us in the world. Knowledge in history and natural history is fundamental to enable students to receive new knowledge critically. Creativity is another. The ability to think new grows with many wonderful literary works.
During RW classes, students work on articles on history and natural science. In GV classes, students have opportunities to change their sentences and vocabularies from those of children into those of adults.
Book review sessions allow students to enjoy literary fun and develop habitual reading.
Math (AMC 8/10 Preparations)
Many students admitted by top universities have proven their strong ability in many different aspects. While sports activities help students to prove their leadership and ability to persevere, strong mathematical ability proves that students are ready to enter serious academic world.
There are many math contests throughout North America, and AMC is one of the biggest. Through Whisung Educations' AMC 8 preparation, students from G4-8 will be able to develop strong ability to solve difficult mathematical problems through perfect understanding of concepts that they have to understand.
Students will be informed of various information about US and Canadian math competitions and will be provided with the best materials for success.
